Using Active Directory Sites and Services

To create an Active Directory site using Active Directory Sites and Services, perform these steps:

1. Open Active Directory Sites and Services (dssite.msc).
2. In the left navigation pane, select the Sites node.
3. Right-click the Sites node and click New Site….
4. The New Object – Site window appears.
5. Type a logical name for the Active Directory site in the Name: field.
6. When this is the first site you create, next to the Default-First-Site-Name, select the DEFAULTIPSITELINK link.
7. Click the OK button to create the Active Directory site.
   The Active Directory Domain Services popup window appears:

1. Click OK in the Active Directory Domain Services popup that notifies you of the additional actions to take to finish configuring the Active Directory site.

After you've performed the preceding steps, you can see the new Active Directory site in the left navigation pane, under the Sites node.
